My Grandma's work wants her to start working in 5 departments, instead of just the 1 she's working in now. She's in her 60s and also recently had a surgery so working in even just 1 department is exhausting for her. Her managers are semi-understanding of her scenario and understand if she's unable to work that many departments, but at the same time are in a way pushing her to do more for the company. She already works 12-15 hour shifts every day except for weekends. Her coworkers in her department are mostly males in their 20s-30s but they're lazy and don't typically do what they're supposed to do. The department she works in requires a lot of heavy lifting which is very difficult for her. One of her friends in a different department offered her a job and training in a different department that's less energy consuming and doesn't really require heavy lifting. My Grandma decided to take her up on her offer because she will also get to work one less day a week, meaning she has more time to attend a church that she enjoys and hang out with her family. If I were in her scenario I would've taken the same offer because it's a lot easier.

Just over a year ago my Grandfather decided to go on unemployment with the intent to retire because as a computer programmer, he was wanted in different states and being far away from his family was very hard for him and traveling back and forth was very expensive. He went on unemployment because he was hoping that if he did decide to work again, that he would get a job in Ohio. Within the next year, he plans on retiring. Between his health and being lonely when away from his family, I personally don't think that traveling for work is the best idea for him, especially outside of Ohio. If I was in his situation, I would've made the same decision because it gives him more opportunity to be with his pets, family and also gives him free time for hobbies.
