The geomorphological relief of the Peloponnese is mainly mountainous and steep. In the northern area three mountains, Erymanthos, Helmos and Ziria are rising above 2,000 meters. In Main Peloponnesus, Mainalo is the highest peak, while the mountains of Taygetos and Parnonas dominate the southern areas.

The climate of the Peloponnese is Mediterranean and is characterized by warm and prolonged summer drought and followed by a mild, rainy winter. Ιn the coastal and lowland areas of the western Peloponnese, there is a Mediterranean climate with heavy rainfall (800-1600 mm / year). In the central part it evolves into a mountainous climate with very low temperatures and heavy snowfalls during the winter. To the east, the rainfall is limited to 400 mm / year while in the Northeast the climate is characterized as semi-dry.
