Anamika: Crystal,quick!go call the others
Crystal : ok
Anamika : During the June holidays,i went to a historian camp. It was sooo much fun! I learnt a lot of things.
others : really...what did you learn?
Anamika: well...we learnt that Singapore in the past had many connections with other countries in trade and culture.we also learned about the different governments that ruled Singapore in the past. Who knew Singapore existed in the past?
Megan : If i attend the camp...i'm sure my favourite part would be the one on culture...it teaches you on how Singapore was connected with other countries in the world such as china,India and many more.during my history lesson today, our teacher,Ms Kam ,taught us on how many things that connected to other countries such as green jade glazed ceramics were found in places like fort canning hill. This tells us that china had connections with Singapore. We can make inferences by observing the evidences provided.
Others : really?
Hongyi : well...unlike you my favourite part would be on trade...did you know that Singapore traded with many countries in the past...Singapore traded many items such as spices, jewelry, fabrics and many others.
this showed us that singapore had traded with other countries in the past
Ayesha: what a coincidence! trade is my favourite too. I also learnt many things about trade.Let me just share about it. Adding on to what Hong Yi said, the traded items also include artefacts such as the Headless Horseman and the Gold Armlet which can tell us how Singapore had connections with the other countries before 1819. To finish off Hong Yi and my topic about trade, I can tell that Singapore had many traders and that Singapore was an excellent trading port for them before 1819.
Crystal: looks like me and Anamika have the same liking then.our favourites is government...which is finding out on the people who ruled Singapore in the past. Singapore was ruled by many powerful figures in the past...one of the countries that protected Singapore was Siam
Xue en : you guys all have the same mistake... you forgot the time period.
which is surpposed to be before 1819... thats one thing that i know for sure !
All: yes indeed... look like history tells us many things
