This leads to two big issues: the first is teachers thinking that they know everything they need to know and that they understand completely, which causes them to talk over the students who actually experience this, to make uninformed decisions on students' behalf, and to not listen when students actually try to help them understand. The second is teachers only getting very basic, limited information. They're taught the "most common" version, which is usually how a disorder manifests in cisgender men, and then when a student has a disorder that manifests in a different way or shows symptoms a teacher isn't familiar with, the teacher usually assumes you're lying. Additionally, teachers have no idea how to actually deal with these symptoms when they do appear—often, you'll just be sent out of class. They have no idea what to do, but they think they understand better than you do.
