Caring about copyright is important because it gives creators the right to be in charge of their own art. While money is one factor, I think creators care more about the amount of work and dedication they put into a project. For example, scientist spend months on mini series and research for it to be shared only for someone else to take credit for it. Similarly, Taylor Swift works very hard on all of her albums and deserves the right to do what she wishes with them.

It is necessary in this digital age. We need the rules and the structure for people to benefit from their creations. Especially when wildlife photographers are putting their lives at risk or artists putting their creations into the public eye for mass production/consumption.

We should care about copyright because people are putting all their time and effort into their projects, for people who are not doing the same, to take credit and make a profit off of it. Copyright protects creators which in turn encourages them to continue to produce new content and media, keeping the whole cycle/business running.

Copyright is important and everyone should care about their work being copyrighted because if someone takes time and dedication to a project that is their work and they should be the ones to get recognized for that work. For example, in the meerkat video or the polar bear video, they took time out of their lives to be there and film and they want that recognition. If someone claimed that video theirs, those creators would have no credit whatsoever. We should also care about copyright because if people kept taking other people's work, nobody would want to create anymore because they would not get the recognition they deserve.

as a creator, getting recognition would make you want to share more of your creative works instead of it just getting stolen. as a consumer, we want to be able to consume more works from people who want to share. especially if it comes from our favorite creators.
