My first job

My very first job was working at a luxury mall when I was only 16. I worked in Banana Republic for a little over a year. I learned tremendously from my Manager Nathan who had a wonderful soul and a good heart.

Growing up in a religious family

I volunteered in the kid's ministry of my church for over 5 years. I worked with over 300 kids every Sunday and even Saturday. Many of these children came from broken homes. This is where my love for teaching kids began.

Volunteering

I have volunteered internationally 3 times in my life. 2 of which were in the phillippines and 1 trip to Haiti. My favorite trip has to be Haiti as I helped doctors and dentists attend to Haitians in rural areas. I even had to translate for 1 of the doctors who spoke Spanish but no English.

How my family ended up in Hawai'i

My uncle started repairing houses in Kaua'i and told my father and his other brothers to join him in rebuilding. They started the construction Betsill Brothers and moved to Maui. Then I was born. There are many areas in Maui named after my family. Jillian Lane was named after me. Abbey Lane was named after my sister, Katie, Heather and Stephen Lane are named after my cousins. There is a whole neighborhood dedicated to my cousin Alayna. Pretty cool fun fact.

Anna Banana

Anna was born mid pandemic which was difficult. None of my family could come see me or Anna. My family met her when she was already 1 year old. She loves Disney characters and is extremely mischievous and independent.

My Husband

Sports

My very first sport was T-Ball which I started to play when I was only 3 years old. I was terrible at baseball but my whole family played and so I was somewhat forced into the sport. From then I have participated in various other sports such as golf, basketball, etc. In high school I ran for my schools cross country and track and field team. I was a long distance runner and I loved all of the values it instilled in me as well as a healthy lifestyle which I still participate in today.

Large Family
