I found both women to be quite similar in the way they were treated by the male characters in the stories. even though they live in totally different time periods, both men are trying not to be controlled by men, and forced into doing things against their will.

It was really interesting that even though the settings were over one thousand years apart, women were still treated as inferior to men. It really showed that even though there were lots of improvements in some areas, women still were treated poorly for a long time.

The biggest difference between the two texts is one is a book, and one is a play. This means that in the book we can hear inside the characters head, where as in the play we mostly hear the story from characters talking, except when they talk tot he auidence.

Both the books have really bossy, chauvinist male characters. They treat the female characters as less powerful, and in both books they take advantage of them. Penelope's husband treats her bad and cheats on her while he is overseas, while the scientists are mean to Rosaline, and steal her scientific discovery and get credit for it.
