I am not named after anyone in my family. I have a twin sister so my parents had to pick 2 names that would go together. My parents chose to spell my name with a "C" instead of "K" because my sister's name (Katie) begins with a "K". People sometimes misspell/mispronounce my name. As an adolescent that bothered me but now I don't mind correcting people. 

As is often the case with twins, there is always an order to saying the 2 names. Growing up it was always "Katie + Cara" with my name second. I remember feeling so strange and also excited when I went to college and could have my name stand on it's own.

My name means "beloved" or "friend". I do like my name and feel like it fits me well.

Its pronounced pretty much the way it sounds except that most people like to say er rather than or at the end and I honestly don't mind it at all. I know a few other kids have my name within the school which can sometimes make it hard to determine which person is being referred to. It doesn't have any super special meaning to it besides its my name.
