Video games take over a lot of the aspects of life in this novel and looks at how society is affected by this. The controversy around this novel is that it was used in middle schools and parents started complaining that it used "profane language". They tried getting books that did not include that language but parents still came around saying it was not appropriate for students. Rather than make it for higher education, they just removed the book entirely. While it is not wrong that this book is not for sure age-appropriate, I do believe that it can bring educational value as society is growing technologically which could one day lead to a society that is describe in the book.
