Read-a-Thon was organized by the Cambridge wing to celebrate reading day. A lot of activities were conducted on this day, including book reading, roleplaying, book bingo, cold case mystery solving, story telling, and more! With different books, genres, activities, and outfits, the event was versatile. Everyone dressed up as a character from the chosen book. Additionally to being an enjoyable event, it was also educational, since the kids had their favorite books to read. 📖

🏫 In addition to all of the fun activities and facilities, this year we have added a new element, SUBJECT STATIONS! We move into our specific subject's class according to our schedules. Each subject has a unique name and all the necessary materials are contained in the class. 🏫

😊 At Cambridge, we have always had access to the finest facilities, as well as experiential learning and enjoyment. 😊

Our school takes life education very seriously. The Student Affairs Office offer activities that enrich students’ learning in many ways. This includes: Citizenship, life education, moral and ethics education and personal health education.

With regards to moral education, our school has something very special called a ‘moral card’

There are 10 cards in total and each card has a different slogan written on it. Below the slogan there is more information detailing the required etiquette and morals.

Two of the cards are related to health and teach you how to press certain acupoints on your hands which can help to eliminate fatigue, promote blood circulation etc.

Hello everyone. My name is Teresa. Today, I’m going to introduce our school facilities.
Our school has many computer rooms that not only allow us to take computer classes, but also allow us to do online international exchanges with you or listen to lectures.

Next is my favorite place in the school – the swimming pool !

Our school really has a swimming pool! It is available to anyone who pays to use it. However, it is mainly for the school’s swimming team to do their practice and training. The pool has basic hot and cold plunge pools. There are also many different lanes. The swimming team also uses the diving platform during practice for competitions. It’s really convenient to have a swimming pool for our own school. In this way, students not only have swimming lessons, but also don’t have to travel far to the swimming pool.

In Dongshan High School, all classes and art classrooms have a smart TV

What convenience does a smart TV bring?

First, it has a touchscreen and doesn’t need to be operated by a mouse.

Second, It can be connected to a computer or mobile phone, and you can even use Bluetooth or USB!

What’s more convenient is that it is embedded into the blackboard. Teachers can present to students from different angles, which ensures that all students can see the screen clearly without encountering issues with reflection.

Third, Every smart TV is connected to the internet which means that we can search data and watch online videos.

Finally, smart TV allows a variety of learning methods to make our classes more enjoyable.

 

There is also a special club called student association, or student council. This group will work together to promote the rights and interests for our students.

Moreover, there are lots of interesting activities held in our school, for example, Sports day, School fair, Christmas party, and Inter-class competition.

Sports Day and School fair usually take turns once a year.

Also every year, when Christmas is around the corner, the student association will help the school to hold a Christmas party.

Furthermore, we have some inter-class competitions, such as volleyball and basketball. Junior high school students also have a jump-rope competition.

As well as these activities, our school also has some sports teams like Cheerleading Squad, basketball team, swimming team and womens’ softball team… They have got many prizes in the sports they specialize in.
