Since push factors are factors that make someone want to leave a country, this can tie into the Cuban migration because they weren’t completely forced to move, but a lot of economic problems made them choose to. 

- Kinship links
Once the push factors were already placed on their friends and relatives, they have seen how well or successful they have been from moving to another place, which factors in and makes them want to move there too. 

- Migrant Labor
This correlates to the Cuban migration because they were originally looking for better jobs, and since their economy was in a slight drought they decided it would be a good idea to find a better job in the United States. 

- Distance Decay
When Cuban people arrive in Florida, many of them wanted to go somewhere different still, and many of them came to different states in the Northeast and West. But many of them are concentrated in one place in Florida, which is why there are less the further you go out in the Untied States. 

- Island of Development 
In this case, the main island of development would be centered in Florida, specifically Miami as a city. There are many opportunities for jobs and infrastructure here, so it is easy to see why they would want to move here. 

- Voluntary Migration

In Florida, a lot of Cubans there might not want to stay there after the economy might have gotten better. 

- most migrants travel short distances 
This is true here, because the distance between Florida and Cuba is not too big, but it is still probably hard to get to. They were able to just take a small boat for a family. 

- people in rural areas are more likely to migrate
A lot of people in Cuba lived in rural areas where they could own farms and have livestock.

- Long distance migrants are more likely to move to large cities
A lot of people in Cuba live at the bottom of Cuba, meaning that they have to travel really far in order to get to Miami and Florida or wherever they want to go. They want to seek a new life in urban areas. 

- Families are less likely to migrate than young adults. 
In this case, families are less likely to do so because they have to travel as a group, whereas with young adults, it is easy because they just have to go with themselves and move just themselves. But with a family, you have to pay attention to having everyone with you.
