When the puritans arrived in the New World life had  literacy rate  high, and the intensity of devotional life, as recorded in the many surviving diaries, sermon notes, poems, and letters, was seldom to be matched in American life. And life in The New World was free air which posed as insuperable dangers to its coherence and survival.And God is all-powerful and all-knowing. Nothing an individual can do or say could change their ultimate fate.
