         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 1: <br>Read Aloud--My teacher picks a quick book to read aloud to the class and the book relates to a certain social skill for example: personal space--it was about a child who loved space and planets but needed to learn what personal space was; the teacher was able to relate it back to her students and ask them what they thought personal space was and how they can make sure not to invade others personal space, while also asking others not to invade theirs. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 2: <br>Wilsons Reading Training<br>My teacher has binders for each student with a page on the front of the alphabet and a picture that goes along with it. This allows them to go through and say the letter, a word with the letter, and the sound ( A, Apple, /a/;;; b, bat, /b/). This is part of Wilsons Language Training. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 3:&nbsp;<br>After each subject the teacher picks two students she felt were doing a very good job at their work. For example she would point out a student that was on task and needed no reminders, a student that worked very hard, a student that asked questions and fixed a mistake, or was able to use their own strategies to figure out a problem (When I am in the class she allows me to pick students I feel are working hard too). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 5:&nbsp;<br>Having multiple math tools available, introduce them in the beginning of the year, allow them to use whatever tool they feel best helps them when doing certain math work (for example: when teaching word problems and 10s. Mrs. H allowed her students to grab a math tool like blocks, 10s sticks, whiteboards that would help them visualize their work&nbsp;and help them succeed while also trying to break the habit of them counting on their fingers. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 7: <br>For my intro activity I had students fill out a worksheet. Kids loved it and really wanted to share. I learned so much about them and made them more comfortable with me as well as me with them, my host teacher and I decided to hang them up in the room which gave them more pride on who they are and their backgrounds. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 8:&nbsp;<br>Reading activities during reading time- Students have set schedule where they rotate between reading activities and working with the teacher (includes reading independently, creating words with a certain ending such as -at, making sentences from word wall, reading A-Z on iPads where they listen to a book and then working with Mrs. H in small group). They have a notebook with them during all activities and wrote down their answers or words they create so she is able to look at their progress and what they need more help on. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 10: <br>The school follows the 7 Habits, which is also made famous from the book, they are posted on the walls of the classroom. The students sit at tables not desks where each table is called a habit. When instructing students she is able to ask them which habit it could relate back to and what it means which allows them to implement and have knowledge of not only good habits but also even a larger vocabulary (ex: synergize is one habit--for students that's working together and they understand that) </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 13:&nbsp;<br>GoNoodle- After&nbsp;the student have done reading and need to transition to math my host teacher plays a dance video from GoNoodle to get the students moving around and get the energy out, then she picks a meditation video and has the students sit on the carpet and listen with the lights off. This allows the students to relax and start to get focused.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 17:&nbsp;<br>James and the Giant Peach<br>The students read aloud James and the Giant Peach and Mrs. H had different activities that went along with this book. They then were able to watch the movie and then they had a day were the entire 2nd grade made peach cobbler and invited their families to come and hang out and eat with them. This promoted family involvement in the education of their students. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artifact 19:&nbsp;<br>Each student has their own classroom job for a week. The teacher created a job wheel and rotates it every Monday so each student receives a new job that week. One job I found really interesting was entertainer of the week. This persons job was to bring in or talk about something they love or about home. This has been a great outlet for students and the teacher to get to know each other and their different backgrounds. For example, one child's family is from Mexico and they travel there every year so the little girl brought in pictures of her trips and her family. This allowed kids to ask questions and get to know more about her. </div>]]></description>
