Catherine is making pancakes for breakfast. She has finally mastered the trick of flipping the pancake from the pan onto the plate. The center of the plate is 23 inches away from the center of the pan (where the pancake started). The pancake reaches it's maximum height of 13 inches and lands successful in the center of the plate.

To find the a, b, and c values of our equation, we form the matrices using our points and plug them into the calculator, like so. Once you've plugged in you've plugged in the matrix based on the x values and taken the inverse of it and multiplied it by the matrix from the y values, you should get the matrix that will give you the values of a, b, and c in our equation.

Once you've found your equation, you can find your solutions by completing the square, factoring, or using the quadratic formula. We chose the quadratic formula. The solutions represent when the pancake was at the exact level as the plate, so, where it began and where it ended.
