Dear mister King,

I would like to thank you for responding so quickly and the interest you show to me for pursuing with me in this process.

I’ve watch the speech Steve Jobs gave at Stanford university and it got me inspired. There was one sentence that appeals to me the most, because when he said that it remained me about one of the thoughts I had about life. ‘’Believing that the dots will somehow connect and the end of the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart’’. Before I started studying Human Resources, I studied a fashion education which made me unhappy. I continued to believe that the dots would somehow connect and I did everything it takes to be where I wanted to be by following my heart. My vision is therefore: You’ve to make yourself happy, because there’s no one else who would do that for you.
 
Now, I would like to tell you about one of my professional products I’ve made this year. I attached a copy about a manual we’ve made, working in a group of four. This is a handbook all employees of the company ‘NovyMed’ will receive as a guide along the company with instructions among other things written in it.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding an internship with your company this summer.

 

We already covered my details during our telephone call, but to refresh your memory: my name is Cecile Feldbrugge. I am currently a student at Avans Academy where I am studying Human Resource Management. Currently I am in my first year. A complete list of my studies can be found in the attached curriculum vitae.

 

As requested I watched the commencement speech of Steve Jobs he gave at Stanford university. The story that most appealed to me was the first story: connecting the dots. This story is about the expectations of life. You can try to plan your future and the path to your success, but life can chance your path along the way. The life lesson of Steve Jobs was that you cannot predict your path and that you can only connect the dots of your path afterwards. I think this is true, because I had some experiences in life of myself.

 

In your e-mail you are asking me to present one of my professional products I made at my school this year. That would be my staff handbook for NovyMed. My assignment was to filter out all of the old legislation and I put in all the topics that were not covered by legislation or collective employment agreement.

Dear Mr King,

Thank you for your email. I am glad to know that you are interested.

First of all I would like to introduce myself. I am 20 years old and I live in Amsterdam with four friends. My characteristics are helpful, eager to learn and a positive attitude.

When I am free, I would like to go to the gym or explore the city. I am studying for an Associate degree Human Resource Management at the Avans Academie right now. Before that I have studied at Schoevers for a mbo diploma for Excecutive Secretary/Management Assistant.

I have watched the video of Steve Job’s speech and what I admire in him is that he tells he quit school but that did not stop him from chasing his dreams. Although an education is very important, if you really want something you can do it with perseverance.

The past 6 months I have done a lot of assignments for my education. As example, I have made an HR magazine with an HR dictionary, an interview with an HR employer, personnel instruments and my opinion about this workfield. This assignment was very instructive en fun to do. I am good at writing papers and it did not costs me a lot of effort.

I hope that this is enough information for now and I am looking forward hearing from you.
