I have always wanted to pursue a career in some kind of forensics. Growing up my dad was a police officer and my mom worked for adams county court house as a court reporter. So topics relating to criminal justice were constantly around me, so it makes sense it has always caught my interest. I just didn't know what kind of forensics I wanted to pursue. I switched around from forensic toxicology, blood spatter analysis, and forensic anthropology. Within the last year or two I have come to develop a stronger understanding and love for psychology. This led me to discover a career path called forensic psychology or criminal psychology. My goal for the project is to learn more about psychology and criminal justice and experience more from the general career field. I want to continue an internship at the Jefferson County Courthouse with the head judge in their drug court. Doing this will help me be surrounded by people who have studied in areas im interested in.

This project will benefit me personally. This will help me greatly in deciding if I am sure about this career path. I will also be exposed to more fields and job options within the field and possibly make some connections with people that could be useful for me down the road into college and my career.

I have some experience with the field. Like I mentioned before both of my parents are involved with criminal justice in some way. But not only that I have done 10 hours of internship previously with social workers and a judge at Jefferson County Courthouse, however during the internship I mostly was observing rather than working directly with the people involved. Success for me will be to learn and research more and feel ready to enter into this field as a career.
