The first problem is the increase sexual assault cases in the country. According to the Education Department, sexual violence rose from about 9,600 in the 15-16 school year to about nearly 15,000 in 17-18 year. Cases are rising each year and should be a concern for anyone who works in education. This is impacting the field by creating a unsafe environment for the students, who will feel pressure and isolation from others.

An issue emerging from this topic would be student pregnancy. This is causing young mothers to drop out of school and provide support for their newborn. Educators should be aware that unwanted pregnancy comes from sexual violence and assault. It is important for educators to be on the lookout for the well-being of his/her students when it comes to relationships.
