         <title>The Lost Generation </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The term the "Lost Generation" was founded by Gertrude Stein but made popular by Earnest Hemingway in the book, <em>The Sun Also Rises</em>. The Lost Generations was a group of people that were part of the artistic movement in the 1920's. However most of the significant people in the lost Generation were the writers. These writers were known for leaving the United States after World War One to go live in Europe and most of the time they lived in Paris. Some of these writers include: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Earnest Hemingway, as well as Gertrude Stein. Some of the most famous novels out of these authors include<em>: The Great Gatsby</em> by F. Scott Fitzgerald, <em>The Sun Also Rises</em> buy Earnest Hemingway, as well as<em> Wars I have Seen. </em></div>]]></description>

He help developed a rising popularity for professional sports. He had hit 417 home runs and has currently hit the 3rd most in all of baseball today however during his lifetime and for the next four generations he held the title of hitting the most home runs. He also is still holding the title of most RBI's with 2,213.</div>]]></description>

People at the time used the nickname "talkies" to describe the new type of movie. The Jazz singer was about the life of the famous Jazz singer Al Jolson. Alan Crosland was the director of the movie. Both Jack L. Warner and Darryl F. Zanuck were the producers of the movie. This movie showed the progress the U.S. had made through technology but it also showed that the limit was the sky. </div>]]></description>

Fitzgerald helped illustrated the flamboyance and lifestyle of the 1920's. One of his greatest and most recognized works is, <em>The Great Gatsby. I</em>n this novel Fitzgerald criticizes the American Dream that dominated during this era. Fitzgerald throughout his life did achieve success, popularity and fortune. Even though he achieved these things Fitzgerald did not get critical acclaim until his death.  </div>]]></description>

Flappers were young women of the 1920's who openly expressed themselves, stated their opinions, and talked about sex. The flappers created a new path for women when it came to fashion. These flappers wore short skirts, short hair, and openly showed their shoulders. Flappers were known for listening to Jazz music which they listened to at speakeasies. These Flappers Openly drank and smoked all while dancing around to Jazz music in these speakeasies. Flappers were revolutionary for the women's imagine in the 1920's. </div>]]></description>
