Teachings have traditionally been used to inspire continuous learning from Elders and to ensure the collective survival of the people.

For the purposes of our 2039 Vision, Ancestor Teachings are sayings or lessons from our Elders that teach us how to do our work and are the heart principles that guide our behaviors as Coquille People, with each other and with the world.

At the end of this process, the Tribal Council will adopt a Vision for 2039 that includes 5-7 Ancestor Teachings that will best guide how we achieve the adopted Aspirations.
