Crops would be traded for goods and other rarer crops, while people bartered for tools and materials like iron with currency.

Silver rings, which first started to be used around 2500 B.C.E by wealthy civilians, was used as the main currency. This made money hard to obtain, and only available to powerful and already wealthy individuals.

Crops like barley, wheat, and other grain products were popular crops. Along with crops, animals like goats, sheep and cattle were domesticized, along with fish being plentiful and beer being a delicacy.

The fertile land surrounding the river very highly influenced the location of where the Mesopotamians settled and stayed.

Not only crops, but animals were often domesticated. Sheep, cattle and goats were traded and used for materials like wool and milk.

Used new tools, like the plow and animals, yo help speed up and make farming more efficient.

In the center of those cities was a large temple (also known as a ziggurat) that the people and priests visited often to worship their gods. They would bring sacrifices (usually animals) to please the gods. 

In early Mesopotamia, the initial rulers were priests, since almost all authority came from the gods. The priests ended up acting as representative of both god and mediator between the god and the people.

This code consisted of 282 laws that helped retain the civilization of Mesopotamia. These rules were very harsh to minimize conflict. Also, the government for Mesopotamia was a little confusing. Since diversity in Mesopotamia resulted in city-states, there would be governors who would be in charge of these areas. There would be a King and Queen who were viewed as descendants of the gods they'd worshipped. Despite these innovations and inventions being considered science by our own modern audience, in Ancient Mesopotamia, religion was the reason for these things, it was the will of the gods.
