During this pandemic, something that really stood out to me was how much privilege I have and how I could use this as an opportunity for spreading kindness like a wildfire in this giant place we live in called, “The Valley”. My mom and I wanted to help out the community as much as possible by going to locally-owned businesses so they won’t fall flat and helping others with money donations to families at this time of sorrow for so many. This picture was taken at a delicious local-owned donut shop that we currently have in McAllen and show our support to make sure this business stays afloat. Having this breath of fresh air of helping others during this roller coaster of a year has truly impacted not only my life but others as well. Even though it may seem that we are just spending our money on food and giving money to complete strangers we will probably never meet, it’s more about what you can do with the kindness of your heart than how much money you have in your pocket.
