How his industry treated workers: Many accounts of Andrew Carnegie state that he exploited his workers, subjecting them to long hours, a dangerous workplace, and low pay.
How he spent his money: Most of Carnegie money went to donations. Its said he donated up to 90% of his wealth.
How he donated his money: Andrew Carnegie's primary area of interest when it came to charitable donations was education. He also donated generously to scientific research and world peace. He is considered the father of American philanthropy.
Robber Barron or Captain Of Industry: In my opinion Carnegie was a captain of industry. Even though he treated his workers for the most part pretty poorly, he also gave back a lot by making Carnegie hall, funding many libraries, and donating to many colleges. His donations are not the only thing that makes him a captain of industry, he also produced cheaper steel for the american public.
Where was he from: Andrew Carnegie was originally from Scotland but later immigrated to the united states.
What was his legacy: Carnegie legacy lives on by the many libraries he founded and his major donation to US education.
