-------------------------
Biology curriculum extends various aspects of life which are dealt with positive thinking in context of global citizenship. Ethical or moral behaviour involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong conduct. Students are taught the ethical issues of implication of science and technology. The group 4 interdisciplinary projects are also a good exercise for students for generating concept of global citizenship.

What are the ways in which the texts, topics, or ideas in your classroom have benefited from contributions from other communities, cultures, and nationalities

------------------
In my believe this is more related to development of science and technology with time. Communities, cultures, and nationalities in the past have contributed with their own perspective some ideas theories and from there the new concepts have evolved which in turn has benefited our age. We provoke in our students to be thinkers and appreciate even a little idea of small value and motivate them to innovate something that will be used by our next generation.

---------------------
The core of every science is delivery of exact knowledge, application of the concept and search for examples derived in our life from this particular sciences. The IB course structure aids this learning behaviour. For every unit, every topic there are plenty of applications which help students to understand the international importance.

---------------------
Almost every unit in biology has a topic of international-mindedness.
An example is ethical use of stem cell in curing ailing humanity. Through positive thinking we were able to create this idea in young brain that if we can donate blood to save a life why not through stem cells.

Thanks for your comments.
The motivation for inducing thinking process for better world, for development of any model and for running any activity, I personally believe to give students opportunity to face the problem. This is much easier in reality/science than in through reading a problem and developing a model. An example is during lab-work, I would let student think of any possible solution to improve or develop the method and I get variety of instructions from students which I would never have had thought.
They think, modify, optimise the method and get the meaningful data from such activities.
