In the war it was so hard nothing came easy in the war and it was not always fighting. We had to a lot of manly labor like in the morning I had to "cut down trees and fences, sometimes I build huts for shelter." It would take a long time and then would drain me for the rest of the day. From all the work we do and drill we do I think that "the hardship of forced marches are often more painful than the dangers of battle."
I had lots of noncombat foes like poor shelter, unhealthy food and a lack of hygiene. They did not provide lots of items to get the proper energy

Then drill, drill, a little more drill.then drill and lastly drill.between drills we drill and sometimes stop to eat a little and have role call." -Private Oliver Norton
