Twitter is a 'microblogging' website which lets users send short messages (<140 words) to all their followers. Twitter's extensive network (645 Million) is larger than Edmodo and Google +. This gigantic user base creates an extensive network of followers - both learners and teachers - that increase knowledge. Twitter's simple idea - short messages projected to followers - is a benefit in such a fast paced society. The messages are succinct and if there is a message to be sent it can be sent fast. Another plus is that Twitter is compatible with mobile devices and due to its simple design it has maximum capability on the go. Users can retweet, favorite, and private message anyone without having to use a bulky computer. This would be useful when trying to communicate information shared in class on the go. Lastly, Twitter is already in the updraft of being used as a professional learning network. Because of its popularity with younger people Twitter is perfect for creating connections with students and other teachers.

Google plus is Google's answer to Facebook and other popular social networking sites. A main positive for Google + is its integration with every other Google application. It can be used by teachers to easily create a group for a class which in turn can easily allow students in that class to communicate with each other. Another positive with Google + is its compatibility with cellular phones. Like Twitter, Google + is staying with the fast paced times by being portable device compatibly. Students and teachers can talk about what they learned in class on the go. Google +'s groups allow for extreme organization of classes. By creating a group for a class teachers can keep students updated with any upcoming tests or due dates. And like Twitter, Google + has a ridiculous amount of active users - 540 million - that are all potential people to share knowledge with.

The first positive that comes with Edmodo is that it is a tool that is used for the sake of teaching. Twitter and Google + were intended for social use while Edmodo is tailored for teachers. This can smooth out the process of integration a PLN into the classroom. Another positive about Edmodo is that each school has their own 'community'. When I signed up to check it out I found that my high school didn't have a page. So I made it. Having a community with those in a single school can create stronger connections with students. Edmodo also has the benefit of increased organization. Teachers can post dates of assignments and tests as well as create tests and assignments directly onto the page. This saves paper and would be more convenient for students. Lastly, Edmodo has polls which allow teachers to hear student opinions on class matters. Teachers could also use the polls to answer questions and see how the class thinks about a subject
