95 Theses - By: Calvin Richins

Yesterday evening Martin Luther pinned 95 theses against the door of the Castle Church. His theses told about the problems of the Roman Catholic Church. Currently we are unsure of how the Pope and the Catholic Church will react.
One of Luther's many theses is thesis 36 states, "Every truly repentant Christian has a right to full remission of penalty and guilt, even without letters of pardon." Luther believes that any Christian can repent without needing to pay the Church.
It is possible that the blame of this situation is to fall on the shoulders of printing the bible. Now that anyone can read the bible, there are more and more people coming up with different opinions about the Church. People are interpreting the Bible in different ways.
The Church is becoming divided and Martin Luther's theses may be what pushes a movement of a new church over the edge.

Martin Luther posted 95 theses on the door of the Wittenberg Castle church. This has caused a lot of distress with the Catholic Church. The fact that he nailed the theses onto the door was a bold move. I am impressed that he stood up to the Church like this.
Theses number 47 says, Christians are to be taught that the buying of pardons is a matter of free will, and not of commandment. I agree with this because you can't pay your way out of going to purgatory. I agree with many of his theses and hope that the Catholic Church will consider looking into them.
I am very interested to see what comes of all of this. I have heard rumors that Martin is starting his own church, I hope that he starts it soon. I wonder how the Catholic Church is going to react to all of this. I believe that they are all still in shock and trying to figure out a plan.
Martin Luther is a bold man that has done something to change things up for the good. I am excited to see where this new path takes us.

A couple months ago Pope Leo X signed off the 5th Council of Lateran. Since 1512 they've had 12 sessions of meeting. We are jus now getting news of the most recent meeting this March. They talked about multiple things including attacks against the Cardinals and imposed taxes.
We are curious if The 5th Council of Lateran will discuss this uprising conflict with Martin Luther. We know that the Pope is not happy, but will he get The Council involved?
They have been very successful in making decisions and everyone is curious if they will be just as successful dealing with their new issue.
