Martin Luther King's oration called for the end to systemic racism in the United States, a problem that had been plaguing the country before it was even a country. This speech continues to resonate with Americans in the 21st century, as a lot of the injustices that King mentioned still play a role our society. Upon reading this speech, I made an instant connection to the Black Lives Matter Movement that began in the 2010s, sparked by police brutality.
