Arid land surrounds the well. A group of people gather to fill multiple metal containers of water, this is potentially their only source of water. The dell appears to be deep. The implication of this being that the well has been used frequently, lowering the level of water in the well. Women and children appear to be the ones collecting the water.

This photo looks to be capturing a group of people trying to retrieve water from a well. The well is located in a arid region and surrounding the well are many empty pots. This could be a representation of water scarcity, both economical and physical. We think this picture was taken in India, Nepal, or Bangladesh due to the brightly color clothes the individuals are wearing as well as the design of the pots. It is also important to add that it is the women and kids doing the fetching of the water opposed to the men. This could be due to the cultural gender norms in the region. The quality of this water is probably of a lower standard. The reason for this being lack of water collecting technology.

In the image we see a water shortage, in which people are desperately trying
to fill up their urns. The land appears to be dry and water scarce. There appears to be a crowd surrounding the well, it is in the northern region of Gujarat State in western India.
That's because farmers have invested in wells and pumps, using massive amounts of electricity to extract water from deep aquifers. The government has artificially propped up the agricultural sector through power subsidies and price supports. The pumping hasn't occurred without dire environmental impacts. Groundwater tables have fallen precipitously, 600 feet below the ground in some places, requiring even more powerful pumps to bring water to the surface. Over-consumption has taxed the power grid, constraining the electricity available for others. The challenge for Gujarat and other areas lies at what is commonly known these days as the water-energy nexus. Broadly speaking, the term refers to the ways in which water and energy resources are interdependent.

This picture shows a group of individuals retrieving water from a well. We can see this due to the fact that people are gathered around with urgency. We can also see that the way of collecting the water is from jugs. The way of gathering the water is with a system where the rope is being used to collect the water. This image is representing water scarcity in less developed countries. We can tell that this is a water scarce country because of the dry land surrounding the well. The quality of the water would most likely be poor because of the water strategy system.
