A characteristic commonly associated with America is our freedom, or more specifically, our freedom of choice. This power is something granted to us by the government, which very few countries can say get the same liberties from their governmental systems. Our organization of government was put into action with the intent of leaving many of the governmental decisions up to the people. Another thing that stands out to my family is the educational system, designed to give as many children as possible good educations on all levels. Due to our freedom of choice, there happens to be sheer possibilities and opportunities, which is sometimes shocking to other, more limited countries. The options for most things seem endless, which we generally take for granted. With such amazing freedoms up for stake, many are willing to fight to maintain our freedoms. When an incentive as big as freedom is being fought for, big armies are needed to defend our freedoms, allowing America to have one of the biggest and best militaries in the world. America is one of the leaders of the world.

According to my family specifically, there are some unique traits that make America such an amazing place to live and raise a family. There’s this big idea of families spending time together and eating dinner together- a larger example of this would be Thanksgiving. While enjoying each other’s company, it’s common to watch some kind of sporting event together, often America football as that is indeed the national sport. Personally, strong work ethic was something taught to me and my siblings while growing up. I always felt pushed onto a higher pedestal, as good grades were simply, just expected. Gender equality is a topic that is constantly being redefined and stereotyped by Pop culture, although my immediate family somewhat goes against the gender norms. Two of my aunts are the breadwinners of their family, clearly going against any previous stereotypes. Before my mom had to quit to stay at home with all the kids, she was actually making more money than my dad. People are able to rally behind each other after horrific attacks, such as 9/11, displaying a perfect attitude of patriotism. Lastly, my parents really like the open-mindedness of many in this country, in regard to immigration or personal orientations. America is a great place, and my family and I agree that there’s no where else we’d rather be.
