         <title>                                      Blockchain</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A blockchain is a continuous sequential chain of blocks (a linked list) that contains information built according to certain rules. The connection between blocks is provided not only by numbering, but also by the fact that each block contains its own hash sum (the link) and the hash sum of the previous block. So, this chain is unbreakable. If you want to change the information in a block, you should edit all next blocks as well. Most often, copies of block chains are stored on many different computers independently of each other. Blockchain is also called distributed list technology, because the whole chain of transactions and the current list of owners are store on many independent users computers . Even if one or more computers fail, the information will not be lost. You can't change or delete blocks, you can only add new ones. Thus, you can always restore the history of transfers of a particular asset from hand to hand and find out its current owner. Bitcoin was the first application of blockchain technology. Now, blockchain is being used in such areas as the banking sector, investments and exchanges, user identification or the creation of cybersecurity technologies, and the land registry.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The payload connector includes pins to provide 1000Base-T Ethernet for connectivity to the payload. The robot also provides a Pulse Per Second (PPS) signal to the payloads via pin 7 (PPS) referenced to P_GND as shown below.</div><div>This signal operates at 1Hz with 5ppm accuracy. The payload can use this signal for synchronization with data provided by the robot. Spot’s CPU system times are synchronized to this pulse and can be communicated to the payload through the API.</div><div>Payloads must include a pull-up resistor to the appropriate logic voltage to accommodate the open collector output circuit as shown below, with a maximum current of 10mA. The pull-up resistor value must consider the series resistance on the robot (shown in the schematic below) to ensure adequate logic-low and logic-high signaling.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Augmented reality</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Augmented reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory. AR can be defined as a system that fulfills three basic features: a combination of real and virtual worlds, real-time interaction, and accurate 3D registration of virtual and real objects. The overlaid sensory information can be constructive (i.e. additive to the natural environment), or destructive (i.e. masking of the natural environment). This experience is seamlessly interwoven with the physical world such that it is perceived as an immersive aspect of the real environment. In this way, augmented reality alters one's ongoing perception of a real-world environment, whereas virtual reality completely replaces the user's real-world environment with a simulated one. Augmented reality is related to two largely synonymous terms: mixed reality and computer-mediated reality.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Autopilot vehicles</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>An autopilot is a software or tool that can manage the vehicle under certain conditions using its electronic control systems. The system uses cameras to navigate itself. It reads road signs, lanes and objects all around the vehicle. The most popular company which produce cars with autopilot is Tesla.<br>Tesla Autopilot is a suite of advanced driver-assistance system features offered by Tesla that has lane centering, traffic-aware cruise control, self-parking, automatic lane changes, semi-autonomous navigation on limited access freeways and even the ability to summon the car from a garage or parking spot. Despite all of these features the driver is still responsible and the car requires constant supervision. The company claims the features reduce accidents caused by driver negligence and fatigue from long-term driving.<br>It is claimed that by 2025 a quarter of cars on the road will be driven by autopilot. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Disks for perpetual storage of terabytes of data        </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>            Researchers have created a 5D disk that records data in 5 dimensions that saves these data for more than billion years. It can store around 360 terabytes of data and withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees.<br>            The files on the disk are made of three layers of nanodots (nano points). The five dimensions of the disk are connected with the size and orientation of points, and their position in three dimensions.<br>             The Southampton team that develops the disc was able to record the Universal Declaration of human rights, Newton's Optics, Magna Carta, and the Bible on the disc. In few years, such disk will not be an experiment, but will become usual data storage.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Biometric Security</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Biometrics are biological measurements that can be used to identify individuals. Each person’s unique biometric identity can be used to replace or at least augment password systems for computers, phones, and restricted access rooms and buildings. Once biometric data is obtained and mapped, it is then saved to be matched with future attempts at access. Most of the time, this data is encrypted and stored within the device or in a remote server.</div><div>Biometrics are largely used because of two major benefits. Firstly, biometrics are always with you and cannot be lost or forgotten.          <title>Internet for everyone</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We can’t seem to live without the internet, but still only around half the world’s population is connected. There are many reasons for this, including economic and social reasons, but for some the internet just isn’t accessible because they have no connection.<br><br></div><div>Google is slowly trying to solve the problem using helium balloons to beam the internet to inaccessible areas, while Facebook has abandoned plans to do the same using drones, which means companies like Hiber are stealing a march. They have taken a different approach by launching their own network of shoebox-sized microsatellites into low Earth orbit, which wake up a modem plugged into your computer or device when it flies over and delivers your data.<br><br></div><div>Their satellites orbit the Earth 16 times a day and are already being used by organisations like The British Antarctic Survey to provide internet access to very extreme of our planet.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Flexible screen technology</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Can you imagine having flexible computer screens and mobile phones which change shape? It sounds like a crazy idea, but in fact it's already been invented!<br><br>In the future, the mobile phone will be able to change shape to tell us when we <br>receive a message. A model called MorePhone has been created by scientists at the Human Media Lab in Canada. It’s based on flexible plastic technology developed in Cambridge by an organisation called Plastic Logic. The scientists there have developed a process for manufacturing flexible plastic displays which are as thin as paper. They copy the appearance of writing on paper and use a type of plastic to create layers of electronic transistors.<br>The flexible screens can be any size, and are easy to read in direct sunlight. They use very little power, so there is no need for large batteries, and this makes them easy to carry around. This technology could be used for heart monitoring, smart-watches, second screens for mobile phones – the image does not disappear even when your phone’s battery is dying.<br>The electronics company LG introduced a new type of screen that is flexible enough to roll up like a newspaper too. So I hope that this technology will develop and spread really fast.<br><br></div>]]></description>
