During the beginning of the workshop each participant will be asked to complete the pre-assessment document. This will help each person to revert back to their own experiences with communication challenges while working within the facilities department at the college.
When entering week 2 and 3 of this workshop open dialogue in a classroom setting will commence. All concerns can be heard and open communication will take place. The Study Blue flashcards on memory and the parts of the brain will be utilized. These flashcards will teach participants about the parts of the brain and how the brain registers new information, processes it and stores it long-term. During this classroom session of the workshop a blank hard copy photo of the brain will be provided and all participants will be required to label each part of the brain and identify the part that is responsible for memory.
The method of role playing (incorrect communication and correct communication behaviors) will provide the verbal and visual content needed to be stored within the brain. Body language is just as important and verbal language.
At the end of the workshop the follow up survey will be completed by all learners.

The communication challenges within the facilities department at Caldwell University (language barriers, topics that college staff tends to keep from management, safety topics and the understandings) will be rectified.
2. With using modules the two groups of learners will be able to understand remember all content through memorization process (visual content, open dialogue, role play examples and handouts).
3. At the end of the workshop communication within the facilities department will be improved. The follow up surveys will reveal how well the corrections in communication have been received by both groups of learners. Surveys will also reveal what will need to be improved within the course for future studies.
