The host, Scott Simon is wondering if he is doing this primarily because of election day coming soon and he wants more votes from Puerto Ricans voting in Florida(which is a swing state). While this could be a reason because he has said before that Puerto Rico doesn’t need money, PR’s Representative Jennifer González-Colón states that she doesn't necessarily agree with everything Trump says, but if work and money is being put into helping her place, that is what really counts.

Ronny Coronel, an Ecuadorian restaurant owner, has said that he needs to pay his employees anywhere from 80-50% of what their wages were beforehand. Only around a month ago (August), 4 out of 10 people had full employment. As of right now, 85% of Ecuadorians are either unemployed or in freelance jobs. Paulo Freire, an unemployed journalist, makes money selling soaps, bleach, and masks. Ecuador has proven before that they are willing to protest, and some have even started protest against the COVID-19 restrictions.

Amazon deforestation has surged 34.5% in the 12 months through July. “Destruction of the Amazon rainforest to the north is exacerbating drought in the Pantanal over the long term,” said Philip Fearnside. There are more than 100 state firefighters battling the blazes. “The fires are causing great damage to fauna, flora and to the Pantanal region," Salles said. 1,347 square kilometers have been burned, dead snakes are seen every few meters.

On the border of Colombia and Venezuela, cases have increased tenfold in the past couple weeks. Death rates have also been climbing in Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Bolivia, and parts of Argentina. “Etienne said governments must monitor travel very carefully because reopening to tourism can lead to setbacks. That has happened in the Caribbean, where several countries that had virtually no cases have experienced spikes as tourism resumed.” Latin America has recorded 8.4 million cases and 314,000 deaths, the worst of any region in the world.

It is located in the Neptunian desert, which is made up of planets that are similar to Neptune in size and radius. This planet is so close to its sun that a year is only 19 Earth hours. Additionally, this means that the planet is far too hot for humans to inhabit. In fact, it is unknown to scientists how the atmosphere is still intact because of the amount of radiation. However, this planet is still a very important discovery, as it is quite rare and can possibly lead to other discoveries.

This article talks about how doctors are dealing with many patients and that if a patient has minor symptoms, then they send them home to quarantine for themselves. Some don't like this idea, and say that the doctors don't want to care for them, even though this is not the case at all. The doctors are more thoroughly treating patients with severe symptoms. This also explains problem with coronavirus and the president. The doctors are telling people how important it is to stay home, because the coronavirus is so dangerous, while the president doesn't care if people are staying home or not.

With football in Brazil returning, Brazil's government has ordered that fans can attend these games. The stadiums would host fans at 30% capacity, which would mean around 25,000 people would be in attendance. City authorities can however veto this, which some cities have done so already.

This could be very dangerous because the Amazon rainforest is considered to be the Earth's air conditioner.
