1) I learned about the 5 P's through Jamie Phipps' presentation, as she has chosen the ASSURE Model for her instructional module. The 5 P's include: previewing the learning objectives so that they meet the content, preparing the materials, preparing the environment, preparing the learners for proper warm-ups, and providing the learning experience. These were very intriguing to learn about, as I had never heard of these before. The 5 P's are helpful for both the instructor and the students, as they are steps that both of them can follow when creating/following along during a lesson or unit.

2) I learned through Jody Converse's presentation about the SAM Model, and I was very intrigued by the Allen eLearning video that she posted. The demo she presented was visually pleasing, and it was a great representation of developing, designing, and evaluating; all of which play hand in hand with SAM. The demo made me wonder about all of the possibilities our current and future students have when it comes to the integration of technology in the classroom; what an exciting video!

3) 4 Door Model

I learned through Ashley Atkinson's presentation about the 4 Door Model, and it was interesting to read about Thiagi's theories. I found it interesting and agreed with one of his statements, "Do not feel like you have to use technology unless it supports the learning process." I agree with this, as there are learning experiences that might require hands-on learning, collaborating face-to-face with students/teachers, and even more learning styles. While I did not choose this method for my module, I've found that the 4 Door Model has become one of my favorite models as it gives students the freedom to identify their learning styles.

As I wrote about Ashley's post regarding the 4 Door Model, I found that I agreed with Thiagi's theory about using technology in the classroom. As an art teacher, and someone that is absolutely pro-tech, I agree that sometimes we don't necessarily need technology for every unit. Within my instructional design, I will consider developing an offline version of the "gallery" that the students my view and edit when they are out of the classroom. I believe that the integration of technology is very important, but I want to make sure that there will be an appropriate balance within my instructional design. Some days the instruction will require hands-on learning, while other days they will explore with technology applications.

After having learned more about instructional design this week, I believe my current learning environment could benefit from creating ways for students to be able to identify their learning styles. I believe this can be done in multiple ways, but I think that placing an emphasis on providing more opportunities for to students to learn differently is important.
