Despite this, in the classroom, other traditional dances are not known beyond flamenco.

As for active participation in Spanish music, about half of the class would prefer to follow other musical genres in live concerts, not Spanish music.

Furthermore, almost no one has Spanish music records, as it is now preferred to listen to music on the net. Despite everything, young people like and understand the meaning of the texts and what they want to convey. In fact all insist that the Spanish songs are engaging and that it is impossible not to sing them once heard.

Gaia Fera

REPORT 2 ON SPANISH MUSIC

Through a survey carried out by us students of year 9 of the G Modugno G Galilei school on the knowledge of Spanish music, there were different opinions, considerations, opinions that came out of this investigation that we will now compare. The answers to the question on the knowledge of authors or singers of Spanish music were found too evident. Alvaro Soler, Enrique Englesias, Luis Fonsi and Nicky Jam seem to be the most popular among teenagers. Interesting were the considerations on what everyone feels when listening to Spanish music. There are those who feel joy, there are those who dance, those who want to sing even if they do not know the words or even those who do not feel any emotion. As for singers, the songs also seem to be very common. These are the catchphrases and summer hits of the artists mentioned above. Which teeneger does not know or has never listened to "Bailando", "Despacito", "La cintura", "Sofia" and so saying. As for dance and traditional Spanish dances, flamenco is undoubtedly the best known and appreciated. "Padova doble" has also been the result of some interviews. Numerous debates have emerged on the question related to a possible correlation between music and dance. There are those who argue that one derives from the other, who does not think so. On the traditional instruments of Spanish music the castanets and the guitar are without a doubt the most famous. Have you ever wondered why the great summer catchwords are represented by Spanish songs? From the answers it is clear that the rhythm, lively and cheerful is suitable for summer songs and reflects the sense of freedom of this season. Also to the question about wanting to attend a concert of Spanish singers there have been mixed answers. Obviously this depends on personal tastes. From the survey on the most popular singers in this period Ozuna can be mentioned, for his success due to numerous hits of the summer 2018. As for the understanding of Spanish texts, for the most part this is quite simple due to the proximity of terms with Italian. In the end the rhythm of Spanish songs likes because it is punctuated, catchy and catchy.

Alessandra Corbascio

Report analysing the results of the questionnaire

This questionnaire was filled in by the students of the 1st grade of Music Senior High School of Katerini, Greece.

According to the results of this questionnaire, all Greek students are fond of Spanish Music, enjoy listening to it and are familiar with it. As far as the Spanish singers and songs, the majority of the students know singers that sing in Spanish but that doesn’t mean that they are from Spain. Enrique Inglesias and Louis Fonsi are among the most popular with teenagers and everybody danced to the rhythm of summer popular hits such as Despacito, Bailando and Echame la culpa etc. Some students also mentioned Hulio Englesias, Gypsie Kings and Santana and more classic songs from films like “Historia d’un amor” and “Bessame mucho”.

Despite the popularity of Spanish songs , very few students are familiar with traditional Spanish singers and songs. It is worth mentioning, though, that all students knew about castanets as a typical traditional Spanish musical instrument and most of them knew what flamenco was.
