Experiment:

Have 2 groups of children (same age, mixed gender) and make one group watch "violent TV" and the other non-violent TV.

Repeat this over a period of one month.

After a month, place the children in an environment designed to provoke them. For example, get them to do a task and say there will be a reward. At the end, don't deliver the reward and observe for a reaction.

Make a tally of all non-violent and violent reactions, eg. Shouting, throwing tantrums, hitting the ground/others = violent. Talking, staying quiet, asking questions = non violent.

Repeat experiment with different age grouped children

9. Can chimpanzees understand that people can be wrong about something?

Experiment :
Get multiple chimpanzees and observe their reaction to matching objects and mismatched objects. For example, in one hand you hold a banana while on the other hand you hold an apple, the chimpanzee can see the difference and you observe their reaction compared to their reaction to when you hold a banana on each hand. In this experiment, we see that when the objects match, they are correct whilst when the objects don't they are wrong. If the Chimp gives a different reaction to each variation, we can see that chimpanzees understand wrong and right.

He then placed these baby monkeys in a nursery with inanimate ‘surrogate’ mothers – one who is made of heavy wire mesh and the other made of wood that was covered in terry cloth. Both surrogates were of the same size; however the wire mesh mother did not have any soft surface, while the terry cloth mother was soft to the touch and appeared to be cuddly.
