I've been teaching for almost 23 years. I'm very passionate about learning and education. 

I believe our role as educators goes beyond transmitting knowledge — our role is to nurture our students, the future nation builders, to become lifelong learners — to teach them the skills of 'learn how to learn' and to teach them the appreciation and the love for knowledge. As Socrates said, "I cannot teach anybody anything; I can only make them think".

My teaching concerns enhancing students' decision-making capabilities with regard to diverse accounting complexities. The following eight principles provide fundamental structure, which shape my teaching approaches.

  • Growth is developmental and requires time and patience.
  • Focus on strengths and use positive feedback to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Stimulate critical thinking that can help students to internalise learning.
  • Structured and shared decision-making are significant to the learning process.
  • Success stimulates further success.
  • Strive towards meeting students' needs and be keenly aware of social, emotional, and physical variables that affect the learning process.
  • Value diversity and seek unity.
  • Seek continuous renewal and growth.

The above eight principles serve as my strategic pillars through which I design academic courses, advising and consulting students within areas of my expertise.

My role as an academician is also to make the process of learning as transparent as possible. This transparency refers to honest and clear communication of my goals with regard to assignments and other continuous assessments' components.

My tagline is "honest education via convenient learning".

I hope this CDAE course will offer some useful insights on how blended learning can enhance my strive towards making accounting subjects fun and full of excitement!
