The process requires a harvest of only 1/80 the size of the wound and produces a solution containing a mixture of dermatologic-specific cells to promote healing (Medgadget, 2018). ReCell's "Spray-On Skin Cells" can be applied directly to partial-thickness burns to promote healing or applied in conjunction with traditional grafts to full-thickness burns to assist the process of the grafts (Avita Medical, 2018). From a facility standpoint, ReCell could reduce cost of treatment for burn patients by hastening healing of burn wounds and reducing their hospital stay.
