To re-create this video we as a team selected the first minute of the video and broke it down into a shot list, we then pared which shots go with certain lyrics, we also wrote out a cutting to the beat sheet so we know what types of shot is being shown at certain times of the music video. We also go together a costume to resemble the artist in the original music video.

We had a few challenges a long the way of creating our first music video, for example; The music video was originally filmed in Los Angeles, as we do not live any were near there neither do we have similar surroundings it was difficult to find suitable locations to film. We also had difficulty lip syncing the actors mouth movents to the music; this was due to a lack of planning and learing the words and because we did not play the song allowed so the actor knows the beat of the song and when he should sing and when he shouldn't. We have learned by our mistakes and now know to bring a lyric sheet aswell as to play the music to the actor so they can match the artists speech. We also lost a lot of footage as well as missing some footage out which resorted with us having to either improvise with what we had as well as having to use the original video in the missing scenes. To stop this happening in our final video we will be drawing out a complete shot list so we make sure we do not miss any part of the video.

Admitittedly this wasn't the most proffesionally done nor the most accurate re-make of the original music video but for the time we had and the limited recourses I feel this was a successful first attempt because we as a group have learned a lot about the complexity in making a successful music video and we now know what to do and what not to do. I think the attempts to some of the more complex camera shots, for example, the upside down spin shot, were done rather well and did mirror a resemblance to the original. I also think our costumes were well thought out and matched the originals rather well which makes up for the poor location choices. What I am most proud of with our Preliminary video is the scene where our actor is on a bike while rapping. This scene was very hard to do but the actors movements were almost identical to the original and I think made the video a lot better thanks to the actor learning and copying the original movements to the beat of the song.
