My School-From-Home Workbook! (Day 9 - Monday, April 20th, 2020) by Mark Giraldi

I will be sending a new one of these each school morning to your parent's e-mail! It'll contain all of our schoolwork for the day. Any assignment submissions can be turned in through our class site (Edmodo). You should aim for one hour of schoolwork each school day! Don't forget about Ms. Garbett's weekly French work (posted on her Brightspace site), which you can access through your BYOD page (https://byod.peelschools.org/), and Mr. Bieman's Music page, which you can access through Google Classrooms (https://classroom.google.com/).

Covid-19 Time Capsule Assignment (Part 1 of 4)

This week (split into 4 parts) we're going to be working on a Covid-19 Time Capsule! This means we're going to be creating a record of the events happening now for our future self to read! Each day I'll be attaching files (both on Padlet and Edmodo, in our Language Arts section) for us to complete. You have a number of ways you can make this time capsule!

You can print them off and complete by hand, you can use them as guidelines and make an electronic medium for this (like a Wix webpage, or a Padlet post, or a Google Slides or Prezi presentation, etc), or you can make each sheet by hand and your home materials (trying to include what each sheet requests from you)!

Today you'll be working on...

1. Title Page
This one is easy! It's just a 'My Covid-19 Time Capsule' title, likely with the date, your name, and a picture or representation of some sort!

2. You Are Living Through History Right Now Page
This one is about what's happening now! You can use pictures to show, or a journal entry (writing about what life is like right now in your home), or some special memories... anything to explain what's going on right now!

3. All About Me Page
This is so your future self can look back and remember all the different things about current you! Trust me, the older you get, the more you forget! Include all the listed details!

This work will be submitted once all four parts are completed. Please don't submit (there'll be an open turn in portal in Language Arts and Visual Art on Edmodo on Thursday, April 23rd) until we've finished the entire thing!

Bonus Activity - The Epic Online Library is free until the end of June. It has thousands of read-to-mes, chapter books, graphic novels, videos and more! Our class code is APK4555. If you need an e-mail invitation to register your free account, e-mail me and ask!
