Significance
Imagery- The news on the radio is described to us the way it is said which is reference to sound in the 5 senses.
Evil- It's evil because there is a killer on the loose,a murderer=evil.

" When he had passed by the woman said. 'How come you never look that way anymore?'
'Huh?'
'Nothing,' she said but she watched the young man in the grey suit disappear into the gloom of the encroaching night and thought that if there was anything more beautiful than springtime it was young love " (460)

Explanation:
This passage shows dramatic irony. Dramatic irony because we as the reader know more than the characters in the story. We know that this young man just finished murdering someone but the woman standing outside her house believes that this young man is in love, and she finds it 'beautiful'.

Significance:
The theme that stood out to me was appearance VS reality. Appearance VS reality because the young man was wearing a grey suit so we assume he is a business man and is in love, but in reality he is actually a dark psychopath who a few seconds ago finished murdering a woman with a hammer. We can not judge what people are going to be like by their appearance, the woman took a look at him and automatically thought he was in love by what she saw. What she did not see was the reality that this young man has already murdered six woman.

Tavar
"He was dressed in a light grey suit, the narrow tie pulled down a little, his top collar button undone". (452)

Explanation: The young man dressed up in a light grey suit smiling and looking very happy coming from a business meeting or a job interview. The way that he looks it wouldn't look he is the type of person to commit a murder.
Significant: Chaos- The murder that the young man commit was unexpected, when the young man bought the flowers we didn't know that he was going to kill Norma. Evil- For six years he killed six different women and thinks they are his wife Norma that's dead ten years ago.
Appearance vs Reality- A man that is dressed up in a suit and always in love with a happy smile on his face we didn't expect he would kill a woman because

"Hey, kid!" one of them called, "you wanna buy a weddin' ring cheap? I'll sell you mine.... I don't want it no more"

Explanation: The young man when he was buying flowers there was a man who was standing on the watching him asked if he wants to buy his wedding ring for his girl. There is situational irony present here because the man selling the ring and the reader does not know that he is not really in love he is going to murder someone.

Significance: The theme that is present in this part of the short story is foreshadowing because if the man is not ready to make a commitment which is marriage, then there has to be something wrong. He looks so very in love that he must be ready to marry this woman but really he is going to murder someone because he is a phsyco.
