This week we learned about analogies. If you don’t know what analogies are, they are 2 things that can relate to each other. For example: hand is to/: write, because you use your hand to write which is a function type of analogy. There are other types of analogies such as characteristic, change, etc. For the activity, we went around the room and had to guess what the 2nd part of the analogy was. It was pretty easy though. And fun.

Islam and their beliefs

In L.A.S.S, Bears and Tigers learned a little about Islamic culture and beliefs. They also started their own Islamic art designs. We learned the difference between Islam and Muslim. Islam is the act, and Muslim is the one participating. The two cultures are very similar except for one reason. The purpose was to learn more about Asia.

For brain work Ms. Cohn brought out a bunch of toys for us to fix from the MESSY! Closet. We would fix it from ,add pieces, put in instructions and if the pieces are not there we would get them from the room. For some games like Scrabble we had to sort them all because we found three sets of Scrabble in one box. Plus there was only two boxes. At the end we took a picture with all of the boxes we helped fix. We did this Because We have had that closet for 12 years ad the main part was too work together.

This week in math we are making youtube tutorials. This is how it works. We each are assigned a partner to work with. Once we get our partner we pick a topic we learned in class. Then we get a rubric from from Ms. Cohn and get to work. First we have to create a script. And include 2 different problems. When we are done with that we have to use a slide to help with the tutorial. Then we will post it online. We did this so other people can learn how to do this. And so we can get better at it ourselves.

This week we prefixes. We learned that prefix is a thing that goes before a real word. An example is like a bicycle. We did an activity. This how we played. We divide the tables up into three groups. Then Ms. Cohn wrote three prefixes on three big different posters. She wrote one prefix on each poster in the middle. Then we wrote as much prefixes on our poster as we can. Then we switched and did the same thing. We did this to use them more.

Too day a Author. So what we did first was we went to bears and clicked on what our teacher wanted us to do. In we did what a Author would do and that would be. Describing what they look and what they act like and how people react to him. We did this maybe someday we can become a Author.

In Ms.Lau’s math class we did rounding to one of the place values in decimal form. For example: If we had to write two and five tenths which would be 2.50, then we would round to the nearest ones. It would become different depending on the next number. Which would be 5. You know what to change it by remembering this: 5 or more round up 1, 4 or less round down 1. We did this because we will learn.
