Meals on Wheels was first founded in Britain during World War Two.
2. In Australia the organisation was founded by Doris Taylor MBE in SA, 1953 and the first meal was then served later in 1954.
3. There is over 15,000 Queensland volunteers.
4. Meals on Wheels delivers around 1.9 million meals a year to more than 11,500 people with a large variety of support needs, not just elderly.
5.  There was a 34.2% decrease in hospitalisation for malnutrition after Meals on Wheels started helping those in their community.
