I eventually walked across this old broken log, which I found looked quite cool and I immediately thought of using it in my art. I also wanted to use rocks in some way, so I decided that I would gather a bunch of rocks, varying in different sizes and I would cover half of it with rocks and leave the rest wood. Before I put it all together I brought the log on my deck near the lake so it would have a nice background and I then covered the log with rocks. Some rocks are small, some are large, and the colours fade. The twigs follow the theme of different values, and they outline the design. My inspiration for this art was the many pictures on the slideshow that consisted of mainly rocks, and their unique designs. I also loved the colour range in many of Andy Goldsworthy's artworks, which I copied. Although the rocks are only black and white, it still goes to show the many different colours nature carries, and the variety of objects to be found amongst forest, gardens, yards and more. Adventure is one thing that I certainly love, and that includes searching for rocks, trees, or any kind of flower. I created a simple, but meaningful piece, and I hope you enjoy it!

Some of my strengths in this project are definitely doing the colour (I love how it looks so tropical and summery) and using the different textures of cardboard to my advantage (I used different levels of cardboard that I painted different shades of teal to look like waves, I used corrugated cardboard to create seaweed, and I did scales out of cardboard to make the fins).
