The victim's body found in front of his desk in the floor. the bruising and bleeding of his face and nose respectively indicate the assailant's initial attack and the scratches on the arms are defensive wounds that occurred moments later. The final blow is assumed to have come from the 3-hole punch found haphazardly thrown on the table

5. Earring on the Floor

This earring was found on the floor approx two-thirds of the way across the office in the direction of the desk. investigators believe it was removed from the assailant during the attack as the victim reached for his attacker's face

The plant, off of the desk photographed above, was displaced which was evident by the dust markings on the rear of the desk surface

11. Victim's Emptied Safe

The victim's safe that was found left open in the corner of the office. It had been emptied, the documents and money were missing.

This table was placed in the centre of the office and also showed no evidence of involvement in the crime aside from a small shift in position (indicated by the marks in the carpet)

9. 3-Hole Punch From Centre Table

Believed by the investigators the be the "blunt" object used on the victim's skull after he stumbled to the ground after stumbling on the chair. This hole punch was found tossed onto the gray table, presumably immediately after the attack

1. Proposed Scenario

The victim had written a note to remind himself to leave work promptly. Yet, at the end of the workday he was approached by a female. An argument and physical confrontation resulted as the assailant forced her way across the room. The injuries suggest an initial assault to the head and face when it is believed the victim removed and deposited the earring from the assailant to the floor. This also forced the victim against the centre table. To this attack the victim then responded by raising his arms in a defensive position where he received scratches as the assailant continued her advance. The victim retreated further into the office where he stumbled and fall upon the chair which he broke. With arms at his front defensively, he was unable to right himself and fell to the floor in between the table and desk. He reached up to the desk to hold himself up disturbing the plant as he fell. At this time, it is believed the assailant took up the 3-hole punch from the table and issued the fatal blow to the head, fracturing the skull. The object was then discarded on the table and the safe was emptied. The opening of the safe indicates a female that the victim was close enough with to reveal the code. Investigators suggest questioning the women closest to the victim.

This chair was found to be laying in the corner of the room with a broken wheel, interpretted as a result of the struggle in which the victim was forced backwards in the attack which cause him to stumble onto the furniture. It is possible this happened after the initial strike when the victim's arms were raised to ward of the assailant.
