1.) When becoming a leader, it is significantly harder to be able to lead others if we can't lead ourselves.
This means to me that we must understand how we work and understand obstacles and how to over come them, but we must able to apply these for our peers too. Be understanding. 
2.) Making goals for ourselves over others, isn't selfish.
Sometimes we have to complete things for ourselves before we can for others. Which isn't selfish, it is mature.
3.) Taking accountability doesn't mean we are always in the wrong.
We often mistake taking accountability and interpret as getting in trouble because we took the action to admit what we did.
