- We wondered why chickenpox effected the martians different than humans and why did they die instead of having spots on their bodies like we do.
- We talked about how the plant has fallen and the fact the 4 of the 5 cities that the went to ha been abandoned for thousands of year because of the out break of chickenpox.
-The quote on agenda 2 states that all civilizations because even the strongest civilizations  can fall due to disease like the Aztec Empire with the Spanish.

Discussion Highlights:
- During the discussion of agenda topic 1, we discussed how economic and outside opportunities were the main reason for colonization. We also discussed how the Martian population dying was an accident, even if it was a direct result of human colonization.
- Agenda Topic 2 was a drawing of a human civilization growing and expanding above the fallen ruins of Martian Civilization. This drawing shows how the humans took over the Martian civilization and built on top of it.
- Agenda topic 3 shows what the main focus of our discussions are, how mars changed over time. Throughout the book we can see how mars changed; the Martian population got wiped out, human civilization began, and Mars basically became like earth. Also, a unique point was made on how the chronicle format throughout the book puts an emphasis on the negative effect of human civilization on mars. 
- Agenda topic 4 discusses the chapter about Africans attempting to colonize mars. This chapter highlights the racism on earth and how it will be transported to mars in the future.
- Overall, this was a very productive discussion that highlighted many important topics, such as the causes and effects of human colonization on mars.

- As a group, we all agreed that the book was really interesting. This is because it depicts human colonization in an accurate way, even if it comes off as harsh and cruel. For example, the humans killed all the Martians, colonized their land, and then abandoned the planet. Also, the themes of war and racism were scene throughout the book.
-We all decided to draw a picture at the end of the book to represent how mars was abandoned and how earth was fighting. We talked about how we each thought how Mars and Earth looked at the end of the book.

Discussion Highlights:
- The chronicle layout allows the book progress nicely, and shows the different effects of the human colonization of Mars effectively.
- This also shows the differences of life on mars vs. life on earth during different time periods 
- The culture of mars effects how the earth men can colonize mars, as seen in the earliest chapters the Martian’s don’t believe the earth men. Also, we can see similar cultures in acts such as hunting, marriage, and different town layouts.
- The different expeditions show how the humans adapt and change based off the earlier expeditions. However, since the humans have ended up dead they don’t actually know what is on mars or how to approach the colonization of mars.
- We came to the conclusion that diseases will kill off the majority of the Martian population, this has happened throughout history and was seen with the native Americans during early colonization of America. We also came to the conclusion that once Mars is colonized, the ways of war on earth will transfer over to Mars.
