I can read them a mystery picture book (maybe one of the three that I have listed under the 'Mystery Picture Books' section) and then have them read a mystery picture book on their own. This will show them what is included in mystery books, helping them identify the characteristics of a mystery book.

I can post riddle cards throughout the classroom, having them respond to each one. How they will respond with lead them to another riddle card and so on. If they get the riddles correct, theyw ill be lead to a prize, if they get them incorrect, they will be lead right back to the start. I think that this will help show students how to think critically to solve things, which leads them to the final answer.
