An electromagnetic transformer follows the principle that a changing electric current can be used to create another electric current in the presence of a magnetic field. It does this by having a metal coil as an electro magnet with an AC current flowing through the input side and creating either a higher current, lower current, or the same current. This depends on the number of small metal coils around the main metal coil. If the amount of small metal coils on the input and output sides are the same, the current will also stay the same. If the amount of coils in the input side is higher, the current on the output side will be lower and vice versa.
