I have created a google doc with key information on the tasks I must complete for this assessment. This includes a survey, action plans and presentation. This helped gathering ideas and making a action plan much easier and more successful. Some barriers were deciding on a top and catch phase and all agreeing on what we would present. These were quickly overcome. Good wifi enabled us to work on this document as we look back at it for information. This is extremely helpful as the tasks get more difficult.

6th May

I have created I google survey for the year 10 girls to complete. This involves questions around how much they tan, if they wear sunscreen, how long they tan for and what they need to know. I will have sent this out to them to complete for my data. Putting this together was easy as me and my group members worked really well together. We had to overcome barriers around disagreements for questions to be asked. Having a small group of three enable us to agree on most things and assign tasks to all of us equally. Overall it looks really good and has good questions followed by important results.

Today we began working on our presentation. This is a slide show we will present to the year 10 girls. It was important to put on eye drawing images and key information to keep them locked in. Having three of us was an enabler as we could be be designated slides to work on to speed up the process. We struggled with agreeing on what should go on what slide, this was quickly resolved as we had similar ideas. So far out presentation is looking pretty good, there are still some slides to complete. I want to be done by the 1st of June so we have time to practice by the 5th June.

My group and I emailed mentor teachers to please ask their students to complete our forms. Mentor teachers are a huge enabler as all year 10 girls belong to a group, this ensure good answers and more results. We also contacted Mrs Morgan and Mrs Buchanan to allow permission for our survey to be sent. We had to go into Mrs Buchanans office to get her to check her emails as we had a limited time to get this sent out. This was stressful for the group. Everything Went successfully and we got permission that was needed and prepared to send it out.

I have sent out over 15 emails to companies that promote sun safe products. This is in the hope one sends back some PR for us to give out at the end pf our presentations. This will keep them entertained and engaged. An enabler of this their emails being so accessible. Without this we would struggle to find out how to contact them. Creating this email was easy as we understood exactly what we needed to say in it, and we wanted it to be polite. A barrier we had to overcome was confidence. This is due to the fact we have never had to email big companies as we were worried about what they would say. Now they are all sent out we wait on emails back.

I got an email from the Cancer society informing me they have some sunscreens, pamphlet and stickers that I can collect. I then organised to meet at the reception at 4:30. I walked in to find they had two large boxes of sunscreen for me and loads of stickers. This enables me to share these with the girls on presentation day. Another enabler was them reaching out to me to help promote sun safety. I had to overcome my fear to go in alone and talk with them to received this package. After I received this I felt fulfilled and proud that I as doing this for my group and community. I hope to get more PR so I can create prizes for the girls when we present.

I created a quiz in the form of a Kahoot for the end of our presentation. This is to keep the class engaged and having fun, while answering questions that we had already answered during our presentation. Hopefully we can see that they listened and gained new knowledge from us. We will also give out our PR as prizes. A limitations for me was we had given each other assigned jobs, so this being mine, creating it alone become challenging. With hard work and effort I made an 11 question Kahoot. This became easier as I could use the facts and information on the presentation for questions. I was also sick and could not attended class, but an enabler was that I had good wifi from home so I could therefore still complete this.
