I am an active member of the e-Twinning network community, I am also involved in Erasmus+ projects. I firmly believe that collaborating with educators from across Europe on innovative projects for both Erasmus+ and eTwinning is essential to creating a vibrant and supportive classroom community.

In our project, we plan to increase the artificial intelligence literacy of our students by using the teaching materials we have prepared by integrating artificial intelligence into education.

1-Participants will gain the necessary skills to understand how artificial intelligence can be used in education and to create learning materials using these tools effectively.

2-It will help students gain a competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing technological environment by developing their advanced technology skills.

3-Students will be able to improve their learning experience by creating interactive teaching materials.

4-By using artificial intelligence tools, students will be able to maximize their potential to personalize their learning experiences, create materials that suit their needs and increase interaction.

Teachıng materıals development;

Various Content Types: With AI tools, students can automatically create different content types such as videos, courses, graphics, texts, and simulations.

Speed ​​and Efficiency: Artificial intelligence-supported education applications accelerate the content production process. Educators and students can save time and resources by creating materials faster and more efficiently thanks to artificial intelligence.

Personalization: AI-powered tools can instantly customize content according to students' needs. It provides a more effective learning experience during the education and development process, as it can create materials suitable for each student's understanding level, learning speed and preferences.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) Capability: Thanks to their natural language processing capabilities, artificial intelligence algorithms can understand text-based content in a few seconds, summarize it and make it more understandable according to the level of the students. Artificial intelligence-supported software can be used to present more descriptive and understandable texts depending on the nature of the education given to the student.

1. Students will be guided in their learning by encouraging them to take an active role in the learning process and through pedagogical approaches such as independent research and project-based learning.

2. Students' cooperation, teamwork, critical thinking skills and sense of responsibility will be developed.

3. Learning materials designed with artificial intelligence tools, web 2.0 and web 3.0 tools will improve students' digital competence.

4. The activities students participate in will help them develop creativity, self-confidence and problem-solving skills.

5. It will contribute to the promotion of cultural awareness and global citizenship.

6. It will increase intercultural interaction.

7. By integrating artificial intelligence into curriculum subjects, learning experiences will be more interesting and entertaining.

8. With artificial intelligence tools, students will be able to automatically create different types of content such as videos, lessons, graphics, texts and simulations.

9. Thanks to teaching materials developed with artificial intelligence tools, time and resources will be saved by creating learning materials faster and more efficiently.

10. Teaching materials created with artificial intelligence-supported tools will provide a more effective learning experience in the education and development process, as it can create materials suitable for each student's understanding level, learning speed and preferences.

11. The results of the measurement and evaluation methods we use in the project will improve the student's ability to collect, analyze and synthesize information. The results we obtain from the project will show how successfully the students achieved the goals within the scope of the project.

A. Core principles

Every eTwinner and their events, messages, posts, projects’ materials and everything published on the eTwinning area must adhere to, and comply with, the following core principles, in line with the European Union’s Fundamental Values and general principles.

- Be inclusive. Everyone’s opinions and views are always welcomed and allowed within the boundaries set in this Code of Conduct. eTwinners are encouraged to look beyond their own perspective, relate to different cultures and show sensitivity when including other eTwinners in their events, projects, groups, and networking activities – both online and on-site. eTwinning fosters understanding, empathy and openness towards one another with the aim of making the community a safe, harassment-free space.

- Be respectful. Members of the eTwinning community must be respectful when dealing with their peers and interacting with one another. Respecting other people, and their activities on this platform, and assuming that their actions are motivated by good intentions will make eTwinners not only feel comfortable and safe, but also motivated and productive. eTwinners cannot insult or put down others, or incite violence against people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender, and/or as a member of a country, group, or minority.

- Be tolerant. Disagreement is inevitable, from time to time. Tolerance for the views of others drives the pragmatic approach encouraged in this community. What is important is to seek constructive solutions to disagreements and differing views, always within the limits as described and defined in this Code of Conduct, and accept that some cases may result in “agreeing to disagree”.

- Be polite and friendly in all forms of communication – especially remote communication, where opportunities for misunderstanding are greater. Being polite means being aware and respecting the feelings of other people and showing it. As home of all eTwinners, the eTwinning area of the European School Education Platform is the online space where they can express freely, exchange easily and elaborate considerately their ideas and thoughts and treat equally the ones of other eTwinners. This means doing our best to carefully choose words and content in events, projects’ materials, online and onsite meetings descriptions, posts, and messages.

B. Some rules all eTwinners must adhere to

To facilitate the understanding of what is allowed and what is not allowed on the eTwinning area of the platform, eTwinning has drawn some rules which must be respected by all eTwinners.

1. No use of eTwinning for commercial purposes It’s strictly prohibited to use the platform for commercial purposes. Any company, initiative, event or software with a commercial intent will be removed, as will their access to the platform itself.

2. No direct threats, bullying nor harassment eTwinning does not tolerate bullying or harassment. If you are victim of cyberbullying or someone is threatening you while using any of the eTwinning spaces (public and private ones), please report the message or contact your Support Organisation. Be aware that anyone caught bullying or harassing other members of the platform may be permanently banned from eTwinning.

3. Intellectual property Ensure that the content you upload to the platform does not infringe any copyright. Before sharing pictures, videos, documents or any other resources, please make sure you have the right to do so.

4. Impersonation eTwinners cannot impersonate other individuals or groups/organisations they do not represent in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, confuse, or deceive others.

5. Pupils (minors) eTwinning takes pupils’ privacy and safety seriously. Avoid posting pictures of pupils on your eTwinning profile, TwinSpace, Groups, etc. In case you do, make sure you have the consent from the minor entitled to give consent or from the holder of parental responsibility over the child in line with the Regulation 2018/1725 (link), also that you have provided a copy of the privacy statement  or make sure that pupils are not recognisable

6. Private information and Sensitive data Be thoughtful about content you post that relates to others. You should not share your or other eTwinners' private information - such as personal phone numbers and addresses, credit card details or other private information - or intimate pictures and videos. Always think before you post!

C. “Netiquette”

e-Twinners should conduct their online interactions professionally, politely, and respectfully as they would do in their real-life interactions. Below are some examples of what users should and should not do.

1. Careful and responsible use of the internal message system Refrain from sending too many messages to teachers with whom you are not working. Before contacting a user: check their profile; check if they are available for projects; make sure your message is relevant. Do not send the exact same message to more eTwinners.

2. Avoid spamming in forums The forums in the Networking area of the European School Education Platform may generate thousands of messages. Make sure that your message considers the subject of the thread. Before publishing a new post, check to see if there are other relevant messages on the subject and reply to them. Help us keep the forums relevant to improve collaboration!

3. Only post relevant and appropriate comments on people’s posts When posting a comment on somebody else’s profile, make sure it is relevant to the user. Comments must be for individuals and related to the user’s post. Do not write the same comment to more users.

4. Avoid random contact requests and project invitations Avoid asking eTwinners to be part of your contacts or to join your project without any previous communication. Make sure you have a reasonable and manageable number of contacts in your list. Do you want to keep track of someone’s updates? Follow them instead.

5. Targeted Rooms invitation Avoid inviting your contacts to Rooms you manage, unless you are certain that these colleagues can participate. Random invitation to Rooms will be considered spam.

D. Violation of the Code of Conduct

What can you do if you feel that an eTwinner is not respecting the Code of Conduct? In the Support Community, we do our utmost to protect people from abuse in eTwinning, but as an active and pluralistic community, we count on each and every eTwinner to help us maintain the positive attitude and reduce unwelcome incidents. Therefore, we encourage eTwinners to report when necessary.

In case you encounter posts, events or comments in Journals and Forums, receive a private message, or see content that is offensive, infringes copyright or data protection, or you simply find inappropriate, you can use the “report” button – if available, otherwise you can contact your Support Organisation - and share your reasons for reporting. Your message will be handled by the Support Organisations.

What happens if somebody is not respecting the Code of Conduct? Failure to comply with the rules included in this Code of Conduct constitutes a violation of its terms and may result in temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by eTwinners, at any time, without prior notice. In such cases, the authors of the materials and their Support Organisation will be informed and reasons for the removal will be provided. Users who do not comply with the Code of Conduct may also be banned, temporarily or permanently, from eTwinning.

In case of controversies, a final decision will be taken by the European Commission, on behalf of which eTwinning is operated.

P4C-WHAT IS IT?

4 C's of P4C applications; It consists of the concepts of Critical, Creative, Collaborative and Caring.

P4C-HOW DID IT COME UP?

The pedagogical foundation of Philosophy for Children was laid in America in the 1960s by Matthew Lipman, who argued that intellectual skills should be acquired during childhood.

The aim of P4C is to develop children's critical and creative thinking skills. It is about keeping the curiosity and inquiry skills that exist in childhood alive without losing them. Based on the Socratic dialogue method, P4C was developed as a reform against the rote education system.

In 1974, he founded the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children at Montclair State University.

P4C pedagogy, which has existed in the world for 50 years, is spreading rapidly in Turkey. It has become an international curriculum extending from pre-school to secondary education. It is implemented as a course in approximately 3000 schools in England.

P4C-HOW TO APPLY?

In student-centered P4C applications, the teacher acts as a guiding facilitator and carries out the education by forming a circle with the students.

CIRCLE:

 The reason why participants sit around a circle is to ensure that everyone can see each other.

STIMULUS:

It must have a philosophical problem in its background. Stimuli that make one experience real life enable values ​​and virtues to change. It enables participants to be active producers of information, not passive recipients. It enables participants to think and reason correctly with the contradictory situations within them.

BASIC PROBLEM:

Two paths can be chosen to reach the fundamental philosophical problem within the shared stimulus. 1. Participants create the philosophical question in the stimulus. 2. The philosophical question in the stimulus is determined by the facilitator in advance.

DIALOGUE AND INVESTIGATION:

P4C takes its inspiration from the Socratic method. The basis of this method, introduced by Socrates, is based on making the other party think and providing knowledge by asking questions. The Socratic method is an ideal method for philosophizing with children, especially since it is supported by concrete experiences. The facilitator should guide the participants by asking appropriate questions and enable them to express their thoughts clearly. The facilitator can guide the process with questions like these.

1. What is your opinion on this matter?

2. Do you agree with what is said?

3. What is the reason for saying so?

4. Why do you agree/disagree with this opinion?

5. How would you define this term you use?

6. What did you mean by this statement?

EVALUATION 

This is the stage where the investigation is evaluated. The following questions will be supportive when making an evaluation.

1. Was the question interesting?

2. What concepts emerged during the investigation, what expansions occurred?

3. What insights helped the investigation move forward?

4. What developments led away from the investigation?

5. Is there anything you didn't like?

6. Was there room for improvement in the investigation?

Meet: On Wednesday, 18th December 2024 our first student webinar was held and it was a great success! The topic of the webinar was "The Educational Value of Artificial Intelligence and the Risks it Entails." and its aim was to raise students' awareness of their role, responsibilities and all the things they should be considering as citizens in a digital era in which Artificial Intelligence has come to stay! After watching a really enlightening interactive video on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, students had the opportunity to express their opinions and concerns on the topic through short but extremely meaningful short speeches they delivered. The atmosphere was lively, lots of interesting views were aired and students were really excited to meet their e Twinning partners expressing their wish for the second student webinar soon!

Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and commitment!

Our school organized a trip to MTA-Natural History Museum in order to reinforce our students' scientific curiosity and increase their interest in natural history. Our students witnessed billions of years of history of nature by examining the fossils, minerals, geological structures and biodiversity samples exhibited in the museum. Thanks to the activities and workshops held in the museum, our students had the opportunity to learn scientific research methods in practice. In addition, they further enriched their projects on topics such as renewable energy sources, protection of ecosystems and nature-based solutions with the knowledge they acquired at the museum. This trip increased our students' love of nature and environmental awareness, while contributing to them gaining more in-depth knowledge and skills in STEM fields.

We sincerely thank all students, teachers, and project partners who worked collaboratively throughout this process. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to discover the opportunities AI offers in education and develop innovative solutions.

This project was not just about sharing knowledge but also about fostering international collaboration, creativity, and awareness of technology’s impact on education. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the process.
